Kieran showed us a way to select the elements of the newpapers on Adobe Illustrator and so we were able to take specific sections of the text to work with. He was also using this method to selectively break down some research images into our three colours of Red, Blue and Black.
We decided to focus our publication on the production of a series of postcards. These referenced our consideration of memorabilia and one of our project starting points of 'communications'.
By producing postcards of a nostalgic retro aesthetic but in the context of future space transportation using the space elevator, we generated a strong idea to pursue.
We considered our various options of printing our postcards in ways other than straight from the laser printers. Risograph, screenprint and lino print were options due to their more traditional aesthetic and textured quality.
